Thousands lined the streets to welcome the return of South Molton Carnival, with the parade led by town Mayor Jacqui Footman driven in a 1960s Triumph Herald, followed by the carnival ambassadors in a horse drawn carriage

A procession of floats and performing groups made is way around two loops of the town centre on Saturday, October 12th. It’s been a hailed triumph for the volunteer organisers, who successfully brought the carnival back after a break of six years.

The carnival raised funds to help it return next year, and is donating £1,324 to the Rotary Club of South Molton to distribute amongst local charities and good causes.

Claire Bracher, owner of Bar 27, led the volunteers and told Molton Monthly Magazine, “As chairperson of South Molton Carnival Committee I am so over the moon with so much great feedback and lovely messages which mean so much to us as a committee and will certainly push us to bring an even more spectacular carnival to South Molton in 2025. Thank you ‘Amazing South Molton’ and to everyone who participated, volunteered and donated to make Saturday’s carnival what it was, FABULOUS!! It’s been a pleasure!”

South Molton Carnival is scheduled to return on Saturday, September 27th 2025 - a report and more photos will be in the November edition of Molton Monthly Magazine which is out for delivery from October 23rd.
