The December edition of Molton Monthly Magazine has gone to print now that the Christmas lights have been switched on. It will be with your local delivery team from Wednesday, November 27th - but please bear in mind that over winter with reduced daylight and bad weather some might arrive with you a little later than usual! Don’t forget you can also read it free online.
With a winter chill in the air, hundreds packed into The Square to watch John Acres from BBC Radio Devon turn on South Molton’s Christmas lights display on Friday, November 22nd.
“I am delighted to welcome so many people to South Molton, our Pannier Market and our shops for the Christmas lights switch-on, and that John Acres of BBC Devon is doing us the honour of pressing the plunger,” South Molton Mayor Jacqui Footman told Molton Monthly Magazine.
The community event was once again raising vital funds for North Devon Hospice.
The sparkling evening featured music from the local duo Bicycle Repair Man, the crowning of the Snow King and Queen, and of course an early visit from Father Christmas!
The town also welcomed eight mayors from neighbouring communities to the event. South Molton Town Council thanked Graham Seatherton for the donation of the magnificent Christmas tree and Dave Quick for delivering it.
